Equipment & Gear
PrimordialMC uses a tiered gear system where every piece of equipment has meaningful stats, set bonuses, and upgrade paths. From your first Common starter kit to Mythical evolutions, this guide covers every gear system on the server.
Gear Tier System
All equipment falls into one of six rarity tiers. Higher tiers require higher main levels and offer substantially more power. Common gear starts at the floor of vanilla Netherite stats, and every tier above builds from there.
| Tier | Level Required | Power Level | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 1 | Vanilla Netherite floor | Starter kits, crafting |
| Uncommon | 5 | Slightly above vanilla | Profession crafting, quests |
| Rare | 10 | +stat power | Profession quests, dungeons |
| Epic | 20 | Mid-tier | Profession quests, advanced crafting |
| Legendary | 40 | Endgame baseline | Boss drops, high-level quests |
| Mythical | 60 | Maximum power | Evolution from Legendary only |
Armor Anatomy
Every armor piece in PrimordialMC has more depth than vanilla Minecraft. Understanding how stats stack and how set bonuses work is essential for building an effective loadout.
Per-Piece Stats
- Base Armor — The raw armor value of the piece
- Armor Toughness — Minimum floor of 3 (vanilla baseline), scaling up with tier
- Defense (DEF) — A custom stat that reduces incoming damage beyond vanilla armor
- HP Bonus — Additional health points granted while the piece is worn
Set Bonuses
Wearing multiple pieces from the same set activates set bonuses. Most sets offer a 2-piece and/or 4-piece bonus. These can include:
- Damage % increases (PvE, PvP, or both)
- Defense and HP bonuses
- Regeneration boosts
- Movement speed increases
Gem Sockets
Higher-tier gear has gem sockets that accept gemstones for additional stat boosts. Socket counts vary by source:
- Rank kit gear: 0 sockets
- Primordial+ gear: 1 socket per piece
- Endgame sets: 2–3 sockets per piece
Rank Kit Sets (Common)
Each purchasable rank comes with a full armor set and weapon. All rank kit gear is Common tier, providing a solid baseline without overpowering earned progression.

Ascendant Sets (Epic)
Ascendant sets are the first major gear milestone beyond rank kits. Two specialized sets cater to different playstyles: one built for PvP offense, the other for PvE survival.
Warbringer (Offensive PvP)
| Attribute | Details |
|---|---|
| Focus | PvP damage and penetration |
| Set Bonus | +15% PvP damage, +7% Crit, +14 DEF Penetration |
| Source | Warrior Ascendant Kit (10,000g, 120h cooldown) |
PvP Specialization
The Warbringer set's DEF Penetration stat bypasses enemy armor, making it the best-in-slot choice for dedicated Warzone fighters.
Bastion (Defensive PvE)
| Attribute | Details |
|---|---|
| Focus | PvE survivability |
| Set Bonus | +23% PvE damage, +8% Crit |
| Source | Warden Ascendant Kit |
| Note | No set tag — pieces are mixable with other sets |
Mixing Bastion
Because Bastion pieces have no set tag, they can be freely combined with other set pieces without breaking those sets' bonuses. This makes individual Bastion pieces useful filler while farming for full Legendary sets.
Boss Sets (Legendary)
Boss sets represent endgame baseline gear. Each set drops from a specific boss and consists of 6 pieces including weapons. Both sets can be evolved to Mythical tier.
Ooze Set
| Attribute | Details |
|---|---|
| Pieces | Helm, Chest, Legs, Boots, Cleaver, Trident (6 total) |
| Set Bonus | +19% PvE damage, +11% Crit |

Searing Set

| Set Bonus | +30% PvE damage, +12% Crit |
| Crafting Material | PAGONS_CINDER (dropped by Searing Tyrant) |
| Source | Searing Tyrant weekly boss drops |
Mythical Evolution
Mythical gear is the absolute peak of equipment power in PrimordialMC. It is never dropped directly — every Mythical piece must be evolved from an existing Legendary item.
No Drops, Only Evolution
Mythical gear cannot be found as loot. You must own the Legendary version of a piece and consume a MYTHICAL_ESSENCE to evolve it. There are no shortcuts.
- Required Material: MYTHICAL_ESSENCE — drops from World and Weekly bosses at a 1–20% rate
- Eligible Gear: All Ooze and Searing set pieces (both sets, all 6 pieces each)
- Total Evolutions: 14 Mythical pieces possible (6 Ooze + 6 Searing + 2 additional)
- Endgame Goal: Completing all 14 Mythical evolutions is a requirement for the Ascension quest capstone
Accessory System
Accessories provide passive stat bonuses and unlock progressively as you level up. You start with 4 base slots and can unlock up to 10 by level 100.
| Slot Type | Max Slots | Unlock Levels |
|---|---|---|
| Rings | 4 | 1, 25, 55, endgame |
| Amulets | 2 | 1 (base), 100 |
| Bracelets | 1 | Base |
| Artifacts | 1 | 15 |
| Charms | 1 | 40 |
| Vigils | 1 | 70 (high-impact, ~5% total power) |
Vigils Matter
The Vigil slot unlocks at level 70 and provides roughly 5% of your total character power. Do not overlook this slot — a good Vigil is one of the highest single-item power boosts in the game.
Gemstone System
Gemstones are socketable items that grant stat boosts when placed into gear with gem slots. The system offers deep customization for fine-tuning your build.
- 10 gemstone types across 5 tiers = 50 total unique gemstones
- Socket gemstones into any gear piece that has available gem slots
- Higher-tier gems provide significantly better stat boosts
Gemstone Sources
- Dungeon mob and boss drops
- Boss event rewards
- Crate key rewards
- Profession quest rewards
Socket Planning
Gem sockets are limited, so plan your gemstone choices carefully. Prioritize gemstone types that complement your build — a PvP-focused player benefits most from offensive gems, while dungeon grinders should lean toward PvE and survivability stats.
