Economy & Shops

PrimordialMC runs on a dual-currency economy with multiple shops, auction systems, and coin sinks designed to keep the market healthy. This guide covers every way to earn and spend on the server.

Currency Types

Coins — Main Server Currency

Coins are the primary currency used for nearly all in-game transactions. They flow freely between players and through the server's various shops and systems.

  • Earned from: Quests, daily quests, fishing, selling items, events, killing mobs
  • Spent on: Server Shop purchases, Auction House, Dark Market bids, land rename ($10,000), repair materials
  • Major sinks: Overlevel enchant books ($900k–$1.5M), Dark Market auctions ($15k–$3M starting bids), AH 1% tax

Gems — Premium Currency

Gems are a premium currency valued at roughly $0.01 each, but they are fully earnable in-game without spending real money. Gems buy convenience items like ranks, crate keys, and cosmetics — never direct combat power.

  • Earned from: Daily login rewards, voting streaks, quest rewards, events
  • Spent on: Crate keys, ranks, claim blocks, cosmetics, Ascendant kits

Tip

Hostile spawners are the best long-term coin investment on the server. An Iron Golem spawner pays for itself quickly through mob drops, but expect fierce bidding at the Dark Market.

Crate System

Crates are the primary loot-box system on PrimordialMC. Keys are earned through voting, purchased with gems, or dropped from higher-tier crates. Each crate tier has a chance to drop a key for the next tier up, creating an escalation path for free-to-play players.

The system features dupe protection — once you receive a unique drop like a rank, you will not receive it again from the same crate tier.

Crate Key Cost Notable Drops
Vote Free (voting) [Devoted] cosmetics, gems, materials
Common 250g Starter gear, dust, Common Key → Uncommon
Uncommon 750g Better materials, enchant books
Rare 2,000g Pixie Rank, settlement bundles, T5 gems
Epic 3,750g Over-level enchants, Golem/Guardian ranks, loaded bundles
Legendary 7,500g Guardian/Primordial ranks, Ascendant kits, Celestial Convergence jackpot

Key Escalation

Each crate tier can drop a key for the next tier up. This means a free Vote Key could eventually chain into an Uncommon, Rare, or even higher key — keep voting and opening crates for your best shot at top-tier loot.

Vote Rewards

Voting is the easiest way to earn free rewards every day. Use /vote to open a GUI with links to each server list site. Each vote earns you a Vote Crate Key, and consistent voting builds up gem streaks.

  • Per vote: 1 Vote Crate Key
  • 7-day streak: +7 gems bonus
  • 14-day streak: +15 gems bonus
  • 30-day streak: +30 gems bonus + 1 bonus Vote Key

Tip

Votes also contribute to the server-wide Aether Hour trigger threshold. The more players vote, the sooner Aether Hour activates for everyone.

Store Purchases (Real Money)

Gems can also be purchased through the online store. Larger packages offer better per-gem value. All gem purchases buy convenience only — never direct combat power.

Package Gems Bonus Total Price Per Gem
Starter 500 500 $5.00 1.0c
Popular 1,600 +100 1,700 $15.00 0.9c
Value 2,800 +300 3,100 $25.00 0.8c

Best Value 13,000 +3,000 16,000 $100.00 0.6c

Not Pay-to-Win

Gems only buy convenience items: ranks, crate keys, claim blocks, and cosmetics. There is no way to purchase direct combat power. Every gem item can also be earned through gameplay.
